Assyrian Church, Hall and ELC
We worked with PMDL Architects on this ambitious project proposing to re-develop the site into an Assyrian Church Hub inclusive of Church, Multipurpose Hall, School and Early Learning Centre. This currently steep site is located in a semi-rural environment of Leppington.
Our landscape strategy was to provide practical and contemporary design consistent with the modern appearance of the proposed architecture. As a part of this strategy more than 100 new trees will be planted throughout the site to create a pleasant and inviting environment. One of our challenges was to provide all accessible pathways to all facilities on this steep site. The central plaza with its inviting terraced seating will provide for communal events as well as for outdoor classrooms and a lunch break space during school hours. The surrounding facilities such as large playing fields, vegie garden and community hall will offer a valuable resource to the local community.
We also focused on the design of Early Learning Centre outdoor play areas. Our nature-based play will provide a stimulating and challenging environment enhancing learning and social skills of young students.
